Both Beneful and Blue Buffalo have recognized pet food brands, particularly in the dog food line of products. But what makes one better than the other?
In dry dog food recipes, Blue Buffalo has more crude protein, crude fat, and crude fiber content compared to Beneful but in wet dog food, Beneful has more crude protein content but less fat and fiber content compared to Blue Buffalo.

Beneful is a dog food brand whose parent company is Nestle Purina PetCare Company and is known for making wet and dry dog foods as well as treats. It was introduced in 2001 and has made its name in the US for selling quality dog foods.

On the other hand, Blue Buffalo was founded 2 years after Beneful in 2003 by Bill Bishop and in 2018, it was sold to General Mills. It is headquartered in Connecticut, USA but has operations in more than 5 countries.

While Blue Buffalo contains 0.3% higher protein content in dry dog foods than Beneful, the latter prevails with 6.2% higher protein content in wet dog food. Blue Buffalo is on the higher edge of the spectrum in both types of foods for fat and fiber contents. And although both brands use premium ingredients, they have 2 controversial ones in common. However, Beneful has more than 20 unique debatable ingredients compared to 6 in Blue Buffalo.
